New to Homeseer & trying to determine micros which is the best option to connect to a Vista20p, AD2USB with plugin or EnvisaLink with plugin. After reading many posts it's not clear to me, does the Ademco Vista Security Plug-in provide instant feedback to Homeseer with hardwire zones or only for wireless zones? For example to use with door openings or motion detectors to turn on lights?

For example to use with door openings or motion detectors to turn on lights? hardware zones do have instant feedback (1 secs or less) based on my testing on the bench. I don't have any hardwired zones in production. wireless zones actually have a bit of a delay however this can be overcome (even when the system is armed) with the RF msgs provided by the ad2usb. you need to review the features of the ad2usb vs the EnvisaLink as well __________________ Mark HS3 Pro 3.0.0.149 Hardware : Insteon Serial PLM | HAI Omnistat2 | Vista Alarm 20P (soon) | 1-Wire Master Hub (soon) Plugins : Insteon 3.0.5.11 (mine) | Vista Alarm (mine) | Omnistat 3 (by Kirby) | BLRadar Platform : Windows 2003 Server, 3.4Ghz, 3GB memory
Mark, Thank you for the response, I have been on both the AD2USB & EnvisaLink websites, HS forums and it's still not clear to me which works better with Homeseer. It appears to me that EnvisaLink is a) newer technology, b) easier to install c) offers it's own simple web remote access. AD2USB may have more useful features like virtual relay control, zone expander emulation & long range radio emulation & message micros decoding, but I'm not sure how these would be used with your plugin & Homeseer. Also your plugin appears more mature with more users on Homeseer. I will need two systems micros for 2 homes, any insight you can give me as to features/benefits of AD2USB vs EnvisaLink working with Homeseer would be very helpful to me. Thanks in advance.

I don't know anything about the Envisalink or its plugin micros so i can't help there. AD2USB features you mentioned: zone expander emulation micros - allows you to use an external HS input to fault a real alarm zone without a physical ademco sensor long range radio emulation - allows access to who (which user) arms/disarms the system. virtual relay control - no sure about this one Other users have built HS Touch interfaces specifically to control the panel via the web. since you can get a 30 da
